This is an example of a customer bringing me an old piece of a Yew tree which had been in the family garage for years. In theory all we had to do was make a base, but the slab was so twisted (the only form Yew slabs are in) we had to cut the base into the slab in spots. The alternative was to plane the 4" slab flat resulting in a 1" thick slab!

Live Edge slabs are not a commodity. Each one has its own character and size, although I have been able to narrow down to this size because of local slab availability.

Typically a live edge slab top on a hall table 15" wide or so and 48-56 long is 2-1/2" thick but thickness will vary dependent on how much wood we must remove to flatten it.
This is wood with all of the quirky vagaries of a tree which are so desirable yet so challenging to work with.
